Welcome to your “Week 2 of your Chakra Series” where we will be diving into the Sacral Chakra.
First…how was week 1 for you? What things did you learn about your own Root Chakra? What things did you find yourself gravitating towards for balancing? I found for me that I was drawn to Earthing, Root Chakra specific essential oils, and eating lots of Root Chakra nourishing foods : )
I hope you found week 1 helpful. The Root Chakra is the foundation so it’s an important aspect to work with in order to build a sturdy foundation for self.
Today, let’s dive right into the Sacral, shall we?

Sacral Chakra
This chakra is about all flow, movement, emotions, and sexuality. This is often referred to "center of emotions" and creative flow. The Sacral Chakra is associated with water and fluidity. Moving and flowing the emotions and creative energy around in a harmonious flow when healthy and balanced.
This is our "pleasure" center. The area where we experience all of life’s pleasures. It is associated with sensations and pleasure in our sexuality as well. The Sacral chakra is all about "the sweetness of life and feeling good.". When balanced it helps us to live and enjoy life to the fullest.
Your Sacral Chakra honors the creative energy force within and around you. The energy of this chakra allows you to let go, to move, and to feel change and transformation occurring within your body. It allows you to experience this moment as it is, in its own fullness.
Location:
Just below the navel (belly button).
about 2 fingers width below the navel area
Develops:
2-3 years old
During this time, you develop your sense of who you are in the world. Exploring the world around you, attempting to try new things, pushing boundaries, testing limits, and in return nourishing your inner confidence through this exploratory process. These are all important factors in the way you will develop your creative processes and trust with that creative energy within you. If you feel criticized a lot or helicopter parented during this stage of life you may develop a shame or disconnect from using your creative expression or energy. (vice versa if the environment was filled with healthy boundaries and exploration).
What it governs:
Emotions, Relationships, Sexuality, Self-worth, Creativity, Empathy, Pro-Creation, Pleasure, Sensuality, Expression of our sexuality and pleasures, Feelings of the Outer and Inner Worlds, and Feeling.

Feeling Numb (out of touch with your emotional states)

Excessive Energy (example):
Develops a sexual addiction to a point where one cannot control that area. This would show up as someone who has casual sexual encounters with no emotional connection or watches porn on a daily basis.
Deficient (example):
Co-Dependent on people and/or substances. They could use this as a "crutch" or coping mechanism because they are suppressing feelings and do not want to feel or deal with them. Or they may use them to make them feel more “alive” in this area due to the flow being extremely stifled.

Tools to help BALANCE this Chakra:
1. Earthing:
Bare feet to the Earth. 20-min a day/minimum. Earth is the BEST grounding source. Fills us up with her energy while allowing us to release and dump extra/un-serving energy. I will NEVER stop singing the praises of Earthing and Mother Nature herself, EVER : )
2. Essential Oils:
Apply any of the following to your hands and rub onto the space below navel: Orange, Clary Sage, *Peace & Calming, or *Forgiveness.
(*Young Living Essential Oil Blend)
Say this affirmation after applying while cupping hands to nose area while doing deep inhalations of the EO (do 3 times):
"I experience the pleasures of life and vitality from it."
OR
"I am creative being."
OR
"I take pleasure in sex and I enjoy my body."
Or
“My womb space is a place of creative energy and NOT one of fear.”
Do this as often as you feel the need to use the oil. Until you feel in harmony and those emotions/physical issues has subsided.
3. Crystal Therapy:
Wear, hold. or meditate with the any of the following crystals: orange carnelian, citrine, or amber. Pick whichever you feel guided to.
When meditating I like to place the stone right over chakra area on the front of my body and let the crystal go to work.
4. Color Therapy:
Wear this color (clothes, nail polish, jewelry, etc.) or decorate your space with this color to help balance this chakra. ORANGE is the color of the Sacral Chakra. Even just envisioning orange in your mind’s eye will help too.
5. Food Therapy:
Clear Liquids like hot herbal teas, candela flower herbs, raspberry leaf tea, or pine needle tea.
Foods such as oranges, carrots, mango, melons, orange juice, canteloupe, sweet potato, papaya, brussel sprouts, seeds and nuts, butternut squash, acorn squash, and fresh farm eggs (ones with bright orange yolks). These foods nourish this energy center.
6. Physical Movement:
Dancing is ONE of the best ways to ground energy and release what is not needed. While you dance focus on moving through the hips and pelvis. Let that area lead you. Moving this energy is a great way to move through any stuck emotions that may be sitting within the hips. I have found that a lot of trauma gets stored in the hips.
Also, if you are familiar with the “Breath of Fire" in Yoga...this is a great Sacral Chakra opener/energizer too. Lots of fire-y belly breaths that help awaken this area.
For my Yoga babes, doing some "hip opener" poses will help too. Emotions get stored in our hips and by doing some gentle release with the hips will help to move out emotions that are sitting in our energy space that need out. (if you feel emotions arising as you do these physical acts of energy flow simply breathe into it and allow it to move through you)
Hip circles are a great way to open up through the hips and to get energy moving through your Sacral Chakra as well. Sit on the floor with your legs crossed, place hands on your knees, and begin to swirl your hips/pelvis around in circles. Going in one direction for 30-seconds and then switching directions (doing for 30-seconds). As you do this, close your eyes and just breath. It’s extremely meditative too.
7. Shower:
YES-water is SUCH a fucking great chakra cleanser. Works on ALL chakras.
Just envision the water being a beautiful golden light that is literally washing away all the energy that is not needed while filling you up with what you need. See the excess and un-serving energy flowing right on down the drain.
Make sure to thank the water spirits too after cleansing your energy. I have heard stories from others who worked with water spirits, didn’t properly give thanks, and then the had a plumbing issue shortly after.
Just be sure to always thank your helping spirits.
8. Meditation:
I don't think I need to go into this in much detail. Meditation is helpful and key to keeping our energy/chakras in balance.
Meditate on the COLOR ORANGE as you do this. Set a timer for 5-minutes and visualize. That's it...simple.
Mediation does NOT have to be LONG or drawn out. 5 minutes is a powerful amount of time to drop in with this visualization.
9. Journal:
LET that SHIT GO!
Since this chakra is all about feeling, emotions, and relationships we tend to hold onto shit and let it fester deep inside with proper way to discharge from the body.
Sound like you? Well, damn babe get it out. Why are you letting it eat away at you? It's doing nothing but blocking you up and stopping your flow. Get that shit onto paper. If you know me...I love a good "write it all out and bitch it out" session on paper and then light that sucker up and burn that fucker.
Write it out and burn it. I will often tell people to write a letter to whomever they are pissed at and to write out all the things you want to say, let out, and release from your physical body. Unload all of it onto that paper. Then burn it.
It's ceremonious. The Universe likes this stuff.
So, do it this if you feel called to it. You may have to do this several times until you feel lighter
10. Creative Expression:
Dance, Create Art/Paint, explore your Sexual Expression, etc. Ask yourself:
What feels creatively juicy to me in this now moment? AND then DO THAT.
11. SOMATIC Energy Play:
HOW does this energy center desire to be felt?
Heard?
Expressed?
Discharged?
Seen?
Felt?
Let your intuitive center and feeler help guide you. Tap in and listen. Feel the subtle sensations of guidance.

As you can see, we are building upon foundations as we move through our Hara Line and play in each chakra for a week. Now, you may find as you go through this series that there is one or a few chakras that truly need more attention and focus. Make note of those because you will want to be sure to spend more time with those energy centers and doing things to help bring it back into homeostasis.
The wonderful thing about all of this energy work and play is that you are the alchemist and you can alchemize ANYTHING. Yes, anything. Do you believe that statement? If you do not, I encourage you to journal on that and get to the root of WHY you do not believe that. It’s helpful to write out all the low frequency beliefs or fears you may have. It gets it out of your energy and onto paper so you can SEE IT ALL in front of you. This is just one teeny tiny piece of mindset remapping that I do with clients.
Enjoy your week as you move, play, dance, and explore your Sacral Chakra!
Hugs and Love,
Nichol
