Welcome to your Week 5 Chakra Series where you will dive into and learn how to balance and support your Throat chakra.
How was week 4 for you? What things did you learn about your heart chakra that you didn’t know? What things did you do/find supportive to your heart space energy? For me, it was drinking floral herbal teas, eating lots of greens, wearing lots of floral essential oils, dancing, asking myself “what will bring me the most joy right now?”, and telling myself several times a day that I love myself.
I hope you are enjoying each week as we build upon the chakras and finding this information helpful as well as useful….and something you can implement on a more regular basis.
Okay, so let’s dive on into the Throat Chakra, shall we?

Throat Chakra
This chakra honors the communication coming in and going out. Associated with the throat and the ears.
It governs our own self-expression, creativity, honesty, and how we communicate. Free, honest, and open communication are that of a healthy chakra in this area.
When opened and flowing with energy we feel safe to express our feelings and to speak our mind freely. When in balance our words flow out with ease and flow from the heart.
There is not "head vs heart" conflicted thinking. We stand in our truth with what we say and how we convey our messages. The throat chakra when in balance gives us the ability to let shit go, especially past choices we have made or done. We speak freely and do not hold attachments.
When it IS BLOCKED it is believed to literally poison one’s body...ages us. When opened and flowing...it purifies us.
Location:
Middle of Neck (front of throat)
Developed:
13-19 years old
During this time in your life, you are really diving into the question of "Who Am I? Where do I fit in? Where do I desire to belong?" We are in the phase of looking into who we are while still trying to "Fit in" with our peer groups.
When we can develop a healthy sense of "this is who I am" and express that we fall into deeper communion with being able to know who we are and what we bring to the table. IF we do not develop this energy center, then we will tend to fall prey to holding ourselves back, shrinking our expression, not saying what we feel, and feel as though we do not matter enough to express that outward. This chakra is so key into expressing ourselves and our truth.

Tools to help BALANCE this Chakra:
1. Earthing:
Bare feet to the Earth. 20-min a day/minimum. Earth is the BEST grounding source. Fills us up with her energy while allowing us to release and dump extra/un-serving energy.
2. Essential Oils:
Apply the following onto the front of your neck(front, back, and both sides from under your jawline to just above your shoulders)
Peppermint, Lavender, Valor, Believe, Tea Tree, or Purification
*Young Living Blend Oil
Recite one of the following affirmations:
"I am expressive"
"I speak my truth with kindness"
"I trust in my truth and express it freely"
3. Crystal Therapy:
Wear, hold. or meditate with the any of the following crystals:
Blue Lapis Lazuli or Blue Lace Agate
Pick whichever you feel guided to. When meditating I like to place the stone right over chakra area on the front of my body and let the crystal go to work. Or carry this with you wherever you go. (pursue, pocket, bra, etc.)
4. Color Therapy:
Wear this color (clothes, nail polish, jewelry, etc.) or decorate your space with this color to help balance this chakra. BLUE is the color of the THROAT Chakra. Even just envisioning the color BLUE in your mind’s eye will help too.
5. Food Therapy:
Blueberries, grapes, plums, blackberries, watermelon, basil, water, Red Clover Tea, Licorice Root Tea, or Lemongrass Tea.
6. Physical Movement:
Yoga movements that help move and stretch the neck. Standing forward folds, Camel pose, Plow pose, Bridges, neck rotations, ear to shoulder stretches, etc.
7. Shower:
YES-water is SUCH a fucking great chakra cleanser. Works on ALL chakras.
Just envision the water being a beautiful golden light that is literally washing away all the energy that is not needed while filling you up with what you need. See the excess and un-serving energy flowing right on down the drain.
Make sure to thank the water spirits too after cleansing your energy. I have heard stories from others who worked with water spirits, didn’t properly give thanks, and then they had a plumbing issue shortly after.
8. Meditation:
I do not think I need to go into this in much detail. Meditation is helpful and key to keeping our energy/chakras in balance.
Meditate on the COLOR BLUE as you do this. Set a timer for 5-minutes and visualize. That's it...simple. Mediation does NOT have to be LONG or drawn out. 5 minutes is a powerful amount
9. Vibration Therapy:
SINGING to your fave song, chanting aloud a mantra music, or humming along to a song will help you shake loose any stagnation. Also, speaking your truth will help. Let the words fall out and don't judge.

Your throat chakra is all about how we speak, listen, share, and take in the communication around us.
Are you speaking your truth?
Are you speaking kindly to yourself? About others?
What words do you use with yourself and others?
Are you using your words to PURIFY or to POISON your life?
Words are powerful. Be sure to see how intentional you are being with your own sacred expression.
I hope you enjoyed learning all about your Throat Chakra. Play around this week with ways to tune into yours, nourish yours, and feel into the ways it is maybe imbalanced or the ways it does feel imbalanced.
Have a beautiful week!
Nichol
